I tend to follow the values of Buckminster Fuller of subverting a failed system by building a better one. But when the state has a monopoly of a service, and few-to-no options are allowed, maybe sabotage is the only option to complete spiritual suicide.
As a 40 year veteran of 'educational institutes' in Japan (ha, almost an oxymoron), passive-aggressive sabotage has long been a natural reaction of Japanese students to the educational authoritarianism of ‘Chain of Command’.
Just bought a kindle version of the book. Looking forward to a read, dovetailing it with my experiene in Japan, and triangulating it with Andrew Lobaczewski's 'Political Ponerology; The Science of Evil, Psychopathology, and the Origins of Totalitarianism'.
