It occurred to me this morning, as I chatted with myself (my usual way of processing various irritations, exultation, and puzzles), that I have in recent times, more than once, written on SS about my years-long contemplation of a concept: in the Bible, Book of Matthew, is a quote attributed to Jesus: “Resist Not Evil.” I’ll just jump to the conclusion I finally arrived at:
“Don’t try to engage Evil, and try to dominate it; work around it.”
That’s my take. It seems that my current situation is perhaps the reason I spent a fair amount of time mulling that over!
Now, with or without that in mind, I have to share a post by one of my faaaaaavorite writers, The Good Citizen.
It was a treat to read it, not only for the brilliance of the message— so wonderfully astute— but for the splendid writing. Hope you find it compelling, too, and subscribe to this excellent source of brain food. Thank you, TGC!
Excellent, yes.
Because what we gaze upon we become. That is one of the fears I have for all of us; we are gazing upon, or engaging with, the problem - the vortex, the mass formation psychosis, the spell - and we are almost certainly being affected by it, and will become more and more infected the longer we gaze.
