“And his (Voldemort’s) knowledge remained woefully incomplete, Harry! That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend.
Of house-elves and children’s tales, of love, loyalty, and innocence, Voldemort knows nothing and understands nothing. Nothing.
That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he never grasped.”
Whether you’ve entered the world of J.K. Rowling or not, you’ll probably be aware of the Harry Potter story: Good vs. Evil, yes, but it’s uncanny to me that there are so many pieces of this tale (best found in the books, where there are written words) that are strikingly applicable to what the world is going through, most pointedly since around March of 2020…
I’ve enjoyed this story since it began, and have noticed many little pearls of wisdom within the pages of these books. I just this morning finished the last book of the series, again, one of my re-reads of the Harry Potter saga. And I thought the above snippet was quite relevant to our own war…
Read the quote again, and think of someone like Klown Swab, then perhaps your most beloved teacher, male or female, no matter; and of course, we are all Harry, are we not? Or at the least, we are all of us members of a fine school called Hogwarts. (Where are the dogs, tho, I have to wonder. I guess Rowling is a cat person.)
Check out my new zine, The Rebel Dog Woofer. $10/mo or $85/year, 2 issues/month, uncensored, original cartoons, laughs and maybe some obscenity, for our good health, thrown in. Thank you, Jacqueline, for being the first Subscriber!
"That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he never grasped."
Yes! But I believe the monsters behind the curtain do know of this power and it's why we've heard statements from people like Klaus Voldemort saying something to the effect of, "ze 4th industrial revolution changes you when you take ze gene therapy." The only way they can destroy the power we have is by literally changing us. And I don't think they're going to be nearly as successful as they think they're going to be. But they'll try. They *will* fail eventually. And I hope I'm alive to see it.
