Good Morning!
It’s the last day of February, and as I did mention a while back that I was planning , I hereby notify my Lovelies of the option of a paid subscription to this blog. I wouldn’t do this if I had more than a tiny trickle of income right now, but I don’t, because of masks and such. It’s been a very abrupt transition for me, from having a bit of money, to scrambling to find any money to live on.
This is a real test of my faith in the Universe, as I attempt to help me step into the shoes I might have been wearing for a long time now, but have only recently begun to fully realize I was hiding from— So much is now beginning to come forth in my thinking and in my heart space, and I have to say, it does seem to be because of Covid, ironically enough. It’s ironic that it takes an attack on the entire world, the inability to find work due to deliberate destruction, that has pushed me out of my box and into doing what I was born to do.
I would so appreciate if you will sign up for the $7/month, but it won’t be mandatory.
What I want to throw out to all of you today is about these psychopaths that are instigating this horrific challenge to the Human Species, right now, and of course, for some time now, if we care to dig into history a bit… And we have to dig, because we’ve been lied to for a long, long time. Suffice to say, we are NOT through this global coup d’etat, it is NOT about a virus, much, and it’s NOT going to be over until enough of us are fully engaged and willing to do what needs to be done to stop it.
I have been a Facebook member since 2009. In the early part of 2020, I became much more active there when it was the ONLY means of connection with other people. Unfortunately by this time, because I am not willing to be silent about this psycho attack, I am being heavily censored. It’s very obvious to me. It’s definitely a downer to be forcibly ignored, not by others IN the conversation, but caused by some AI program, which of course is enabled by somebody... It makes me think of the young men who were famously overheard, during the Enron debacle, causing much of California to suffer faked “rolling blackouts,” saying ‘Grandma will have to light a candle,’ and laughing. It made me, and countless others, pretty outraged.
So, over the past two years, as more and more of us are figuring out what is happening, and getting details about it, and trying to warn others, and generally being labelled “Anti-Vaxxers” and “Conspiracy Theorists” and the ones the Bad Guys would like to herd into a camp, I see a lot of people talking about what to do, and how to get these men OUT of their wealth-derived power, and so forth. And of course there is talk about how to punish them.
I’ll say right here, that however outraged I may be, I am not in favor of Capital Punishment, because I believe taking life deliberately is wrong, AND I don’t want the State to have that kind of power (especially the current State, which is, in many places besides the US, where I live, utterly corrupt). But even if I thought there were times when Capital Punishment seemed appropriate, and it does almost seem like a good idea with certain individuals, the fact is that the State is often wrong, and innocent people are killed. As long as one innocent person dies by the hand of the State, I think we should not allow the Death Penalty.
The question is, what are we going to do with these men who have perpetrated genocide? After WWII, in the Nuremberg trials, the men responsible for hideous crimes mostly escaped, and just a handful were executed. (If you’re interested how they escaped, look into Operation Paperclip.) So if we catch these current genocidal maniacs, what happens to them? There is a strong feeling “out there” that these men should get the Death Penalty. I absolutely disagree, and here’s why:
First off, what is the Death Penalty for? Is there no other way to end someone’s freedom, to curtail and monitor their activity? No, we have other means. We have prison, which is a horrible thing right there, in my mind, and should be more humane; there is lobotomy; there is, just to throw it in there, banishment to some island, and so forth. So, what is behind the desire to put these men to death? Oh, I think it’s pretty clear that what’s behind it is revenge, plain and simple. An eye for an eye, etc.
Yes, they should be punished. But killing them makes US into THEM. They are killers; if we kill them in return, do we not become killers, too? It comes down to whether we feel we have the RIGHT to take Human life. Because they feel they have that right, does that mean we also have that right, and if so, do we not become them when we exercise the right? There is an admonition: “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” I would simply shorten it to the first two words. These men have judged that some humans are worthy of life, and others are not. If we judge them unworthy of life, are we not doing the same thing? Clearly, it’s natural for us to judge, or there wouldn’t be those last four words in the saying. But revenge is not a spiritually-centered endeavor. It comes from the basest part of us, which is rage and hatred.
I believe that every human being, no matter their actions, deserves compassionate treatment. I believe that murderers should be treated with compassion, too. Because they deserve it? No. That would entail judgment. I do not wish to promote myself to being a judge of someone else’s worthiness, regardless of their actions. It’s not my place, and it’s indicative of hubris, delusion, and a disconnection to Spirit, which is what murderers suffer from. So again, WE should not turn into THEM. We do that, not by refusing to punish them, which is the knee-jerk response. We do that by being compassionate and in our compassion, we show who we really are, which is to say, we judge their actions, not their worthiness as living beings. (I don’t really consider them human, not fully anyway, as psychopaths (clearly) have no conscience.)
I hope I’m being clear about this. People jump up and scream that I’m a fool, and I would let them go (As IF), and all sorts of polar opposite spasms of surprise and alarm… I’m not in any sense suggesting they be “let off.” Oh, hell, no. I am quite comfortable making judgments, after due consideration, about someone’s behavior. What I am saying is, we must not self-sabotage. We must not cause our own Spirits to be blemished by behaving (and thinking) that not only are we pure enough to judge worthiness of others (hubris, delusion, and disconnection), but we are willing to take human life, too. We must not sink to their level, but Rise to the Occasion.
Thank you for your time and interest. I love comments! And please consider signing on for the payment plan to help support my work.
I had to sit on this one, because it is a complex and delicate issue, justice.
I used to work in correctional facilities (4 of them at different times, in 3 different states here in Australia). Fortunately I was working as a clinical psychologist, and my job was to do assessment, rehabilitation, and stop the inmates killing themselves. I thanked heaven many times that I had no role in the actual justice part of it. Some of the officers believed it was part of their job to inflict punishment, but the organisational attitude was that people are put in jail "as punishment, not to be punished", and this attitude seemed to be upheld by the majority of staff. They offered 3 official purposes for incarceration: (1) as a deterrent, (2) for containment of offenders, and (3) for rehabilitation.
All very noble, and definitely an evolutionary advance on the old principle of "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", however imperfectly it was applied.
There is a clear distinction - in principle at any rate - about a punishment that is state sanctioned and determined through an impartial legal process, and simple revenge. In practice of course, the difference is sometimes a very fine line & not so clear at all, with the "impartial" legal process being subject to human & other corruption. Still, we as a society generally draw a conceptual line between killing as a personal action and killing as part of a judicial or military process.
I do agree that one of the biggest arguments against the death sentence is its irreversibility in the face of possible human error.
That said, I don't know that any of the other punishments we might want to (legally) inflict on our tormentors carries significantly less ethical burden.
Myself, I have thought that a suitable punishment might be to sentence the perps to monthly injections of the Jab, and withhold any medical treatment (apart perhaps from the latest Pfizer heart meds). As a Scorpio (though I like to think of myself as one of the more enlightened ones) I do find myself enjoying fantasies of revenge, and the vision of our dictatorial State Premiers and Chief Health Officers (and of course Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab & Tony Fauci) writhing in agony and twitching with eg Bell's Palsy is a particularly satisfying one.
However, my more enlightened Self believes that anyone can change, at any time - that redemption is available to all. Perhaps there are exceptions, those who are beyond redemption, who have actually sold their souls to the Devil in an unbreakable contract. If so, I am very glad that I have no part of the responsibility of making that judgement.
I do believe that we are all on a path of soul evolution, and that this lifetime is just a very small part of that journey, and that therefore, Life itself brings judgement - or rather, the necessary life lessons that we all must undergo.
For we are none of us perfect. We each have our own individual Shadow, and also contribute to the collective Shadow. Can any one of us claim that we have never misused power, whether in this life or another, whether in a small way or a major way?
Until we each reclaim our own Shadow, the little bit of darkness that we like to project onto the Other, we will never be free of fear, or indeed, be able to claim our own wholeness, our own Individuality (to use Jung's terminology). We have to master ourselves before we have the right to judge anyone else, reign in our own baser urges (including the urge to revenge).
We have to be able to see that we - through this Shadow projection process - all have some responsibility for the Darkness that has been allowed to flourish in our world. I agree that the Darkness is superhuman in its power and scope - but we each have the responsibility for saying "yes" or "no" when Evil extends its invitation.
As this is an archetypal dance, there are myths and stories that demonstrate how we might behave, faced with this. Ursula LeGuin wrote her EarthSea trilogy around this. And my very favourite is the Star Wars trilogy - the original trilogy, not the extra bits added over the years. The original trilogy stands alone, and tells us everything we need to know in order to triumph over mythical levels of evil and oppression.
(And now I notice that you have used Darth Vader as an illustration for your piece, so I think we are on the same wavelength here!)
PS I am happy to sign up for a paid subscription - I don't have much, but I'd rather give it to you than have it stolen by the bankers, which seems to be what is coming. But it seems you have not yet set this up...
I think I was thinking - conundrum. Maybe a sphinxian riddle. But fool's errand works too.
