Mom fell once, sprained her wrist, and had to have stitches in her forehead. Then she fell AGAIN and broke her shoulder. (This is why trained caregivers should be around, you know— caregivers who left their own business in 2015 to go and be trained for just this scenario: elderly parents. First she went to the hospital, then to a Temporary Care Unit. She’s chomping at the bit to get the flock outta there, bored outta her mind and left to spend a LOT of time alone, watching TV. I’ve never seen anything like this place— until I saw the hospital, where my DAD went after her, after HE fell and might be leaving today, when his raw backside was discovered (which I’d been hollering about for months…!!!!!!!!) and it was finally out in the open, so to speak, that my brother who had pretty much taken over Everything In The World, was outed as being incompetent as a caregiver…
But this is not about brothers and gnarly stuff to do with money (well, yeah, but now it’s the STATE getting their nasty paws on it, instead of us siblings), it’s to do with the amazing things happening with our current “medical” system…
When Mom first arrived chez hospital, she had a blood sugar, as a diabetic, Type II until recently, that was like, 430 when she went into the hospital. It’s been up, down, up, down since then, and… Here’s a notable (and enraging) thing:
THEY GIVE HER SUGARY DESSERTS AND THEN INJECT HER WITH INSULIN.
She was TYPE II, which means she never, ever had to inject insulin! NOW, she gets it every day, along with a fucking dessert on every meal tray. I have repeatedly asked the staff NOT TO GIVE HER SUGAR. They do it anyway. This is the staff that, excepting one RN, replaced the entire staff that was there just before my mom arrived. Earlier on, a Nurse Practitioner came to introduce herself— She was snotty and flippant, and I wanted to bite her bootox— Then she said something very akin to this regarding blood sugar and diabetes:
“Well, if you have to get your nutrition from chocolate ice cream, we just up the drugs.”
I’d like to “UP” some drugs into HER…
My older brother and I are preparing for BATTLE now. I think he’s finally beginning to understand that trusting doctors and the Medical Industrial Complex might not be a great idea… And we appear to be working together. Wow, bow wow, right there. And THEN, my dad fell, and he went in, also, and he has Sundowner’s, which means he gets bitchy after the sundowns… He can be a bit of a handful.
BUT YOU DON’T GIVE HIM LITHIUM TO CONTROL HIM!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, send good wishes and happy tails to my folks… Thanks in advance… And stay the HELL outta allopathic anything offices!!! And for dog’s sake, DONUT TAKE STATINS!!!!!! Or any other drug for dementia… That’s bullshit!
just reading a book by David Icke who confirms your story. Leading cause of death in US is the medical profession. Bad hygiene, overconsumption of drugs, wrong drugs, you name it. I hope your folks survive the attempt to kill them!
FFS! What are they teaching these stupid nurses? That sugar plus insulin is insane! This must be stressing you out something awful. I don't think we call dementia in the evenings 'Sundowners' here in the UK. If I were you I would be on guard 24/7 just in case they slip your parents the dreaded morphine and midazolam toxic death dose! Or do they try to knock the oldies out with something else in US hospitals? So both parents are away from home atm? You must be running ragged, back and forth between them. I am sorry I worried you with my own misery now.... you certainly don't need any more bad news, that is a fact.
I hope the pootie arrives soon, then we can catch up properly. You are only online when it is just before midnight here and I am so tired with all the panic attacks I am having, I can barely think straight.
