Technology is sometimes a real pisser. I often miss the old days, when I used to make, with paper, pens, and scissors, my ‘zine called “The Moon Dog Journal.” I used a computer to do the actual writing of words, and then printed out the one page, drew cartoons and other sorts of decor right onto it, and then copied it onto colored paper and mailed it. I have the prototype of all those issues, in binders. One day I want to make a book of “The Best of The MDJ” for posterity… Or is it Posterior? Whatever.
I have an old version of Windows and Office from the Evil One, Mr. Bill. Someday I will replace it with Linux, I just keep putting it off… Putting it arf! But I wanted to create “books” of my cartoons, and I knew it wouldn’t be easy, because what I want to do is limited by my tools at hand… Anyway, I worked around all that, and I have available now three new books, in PDF format, for sale! Because I don’t use the Substack means of the monthly fee (it requires a cell phone, and I don’t want a cell phone right now), if you would like to purchase a book of original, digital cartoons, and so to support this artist, I would greatly appreciate it.
Here are the cartoons that go on the covers, and I’ll just say there are lots of cartoons of DOGS, because that’s what my life is all about, really. Some people have an inner child; I have an inner cartoon dog. If you’re interested, simply go to my PayPal account (top of your email), or message me, and let me know which book you want, and it will come to you as soon as I get the PP notice (mighty fast!). I create these cartoons with a mouse (no, not a real mouse, silly, a computer mouse) and so they often take a long time…
Like my guitar, I take things up for a time, and then put them down for a time. The cartooning has been mostly down for a while now, and I feel the urge coming back… It’s a source of satisfaction for me when I finish one… Creativity is a life saver.
Okay, so here’s the three cartoons that are on the “covers” of my books, along with their titles. I’ve got one of them on my website now, and I’ll put the other two up sometime today. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Thanks to LIZ GRIFF for the support recently, and the others of you that have also been so kind, please let me know if you’d like a book, too, or a short story or three… Cheers.
This one is for “Mousin’ Around.”
This one is for “Cartoona Sandwich”
And this one is for “Cartoon Up”
